MODERN SCULPTORS – The birth of Jupiter

Over the years we have developed many projects, but none convey the power of design through materials quite like Jupiter.
The process used to create the shell is unique and makes this chair a veritable work of art!

The raw fibreglass sheets are cut, layered and modelled by hand in the mould.

  • A hardening product is applied and left to dry. Drying time varies depending on humidity levels and atmospheric conditions.

The resulting form is taken from the mould and any overhanging material trimmed, after which the piece is vacuum-packed using the “vacuum bag” technique to eliminate any air bubbles.

The resulting shell is then varnished.

The craftsmanship involved in its production means that the shell features some unevenness, and each armchair is a unique, numbered piece, signed by designer Mauro Lipparini.
